Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 2, 2026

Shwipe ("we," "us") is a mobile word-search battle game. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version:

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address (used to sign in with one-time codes) and the display name you choose. We derive an approximate country from your connection at signup to place you on regional leaderboards and matchmaking.

Gameplay data. We store your match history, scores, rating, streaks, leaderboard entries, and friend connections so the game works.

Device and usage data. We collect app-usage analytics (for example: app opens, matches started and finished, feature usage) with device information such as model and OS version, so we can fix bugs and improve the game. We use PostHog for this.

Purchase data. If you buy something, the payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google — we never see your card number. We receive purchase records (what was bought, when) via RevenueCat to deliver what you paid for.

We do not collect contacts, photos, precise location, health data, or any data from your device beyond what's listed above.

How we use information

Who we share it with

Only service providers that run the game, bound to use data solely on our behalf: Cloudflare (hosting and database), Resend (sign-in emails), PostHog (analytics), RevenueCat (purchase management), and Apple/Google (payments, app distribution). We don't sell personal information and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information if required by law.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

Shwipe is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Creating an account requires confirming you are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country). Solo mode does not require an account and collects no personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at privacy@shwipe.io and we will delete it.

Data retention and deletion

We keep account data while your account is active. You can delete your account from the in-app settings (or by emailing us); this removes your personal information from active systems, with residual copies purged from backups on a scheduled basis. Match records may be retained in de-identified form (without your email or display name) for game statistics.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA under GDPR and California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We honor these requests for all users regardless of location: email privacy@shwipe.io. We will never discriminate against you for exercising your rights. We don't sell or "share" personal information as defined by the CCPA.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS everywhere), sign-in uses one-time email codes instead of passwords (so there's no Shwipe password to steal), and access to production data is limited.

International transfers

We're based in the United States and our providers process data in the U.S. (and in Cloudflare's global network for content delivery). Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and notify you in the app before the changes take effect.
